10 Top Places To Visit In Qatar

Since i lived in Qatar before ten years now ; i had always a feeling that it was the best place

where i feel a king of ''belonging''.
As like many of our young generation in the arab world, we try to find new challenges, and for me ..
It was the right place to start.

1. Hamad international airport.

Launched in 2014; Hamad international airport is the Hub of Qatar airways (the flag carrier of the state of Qatar). It is the first thing that the visitor can have the first impression of how advanced is the country.Formely known as Doha international airport ( where i started working with the airline company) and it was a necessity for expansion for the comming event of 2022 world cup.
The airport; an award-winning airport and the best in the Middle-east by Skytrax.

2. Souq Waqif.

The famous market place in the capital city Doha, the souq dated to 19th century where the common
tradion forthe  native arabs and bedouine gather and exchange their services in the early forms of ''Barter'' before the introduction of money. With its location in the heart of Doha ; the souq is the right
choice for visitors in order to enjoy local food - traditional shops and the scent of the history.

3. National museum of Qatar.

The national museum of Qatar openede in 2019 by the famous french architech Jean Nouvel, whom
was famous also by his ''magnum-opus'' Torre Agbar in Barcelona. The museum has a close location to the city center and Doha Port. The museum has many collections about the bedouine life and nature

4. Doha corniche .

Doha corniche offers to visitors a walk and promenade along the bay of  Doha , with its close location to the souq, offers a wide variety of activities during the year; festivals; sports events and more.
The famous building is the Sheraton Grand Resort which experienced rapid innovation during the 80s.

5. The pearl island.

An artificial island in Doha with thousands of residents created in 2004 as a mega project which expected to cover 32 kilometers of the coast. Porto Arabia Towers Viva Bahriya Towers all built as residential venice like community which attracts a lot of foreing investment.

6. Katara Cultural Village.

Katara Cultural Village with its location in the west bay , offers visitors an amphitheater and an opera house and many shopping facilities. It is the Hub of many Cultural events such Doha Film Institute.
With the ouverture of opera Aida in 2012 the village gained a worldwide reputation.

7. Msheireb Downtown Doha.

Msheireb Down Town was among the smartest city projects in the world , launched in 2010 with a huge cost of more than 5 billion dollars ; with many construction phases . The location is in the herat of  Doha adjacent to Souq Waqif . The downtown includes many quarters ; Diwan Amiri Quarter ; the Heritage Quarter; and more.

8. Aspire Park.

Aspire Park located in the southern part of the capital Doha, with its famous tower Aspire tower;
or Torch Doha, a 300-metre tall skyscaper hotel. It is the second tallest building in Doha after Lusail Plasza Towers. The construction started with the event of the 2006 Asian Games in the sports city close to Khalifa International Stadium.

9. Lusail, Qatar.

Considered as the second largest city in Qatar after the capital Doha, with residential areas and many luxury shopping facilities , it became famous during the 2022 FIFA World Cup where Lusail Stadium was one of the venues. The city has many districts and sightseeing landmarks.like AL Wahda Arches
completed and opened in 2020.

10. Al Hazm Mall.

A luxury shopping mall in the area of Markhiya with a construction cost around 1 billion opened in 2017, with its famous dome which gives an impression to visitors that they are visiting ''Italy'' and the dome in florence. The construction tells the story of success and the advanced vision of the rulers of the country in order to make Qatar one of the major destinations in the future .
